"You have done such wonderful work and are appreciated. I am very pleased with the thoroughness and the beautiful reports. Many thanks for the expert, thorough and skilled research you have accomplished for me."
Vivian B., California, U.S.A., 2003

Brother & SisterWe conduct professional genealogical and family history research. Our specialized area is Ontario, but we also have the capacity of searching the records of Ireland, Scotland and England through a wide range of resources. Our work is detailed, complete and efficient. While we cannot guarantee that we will find all the specific information you are seeking, we will identify, thoroughly search and analyze all known relevant sources.

How does this process work?

The research process begins when you send an outline of your known family information, the sources you have already searched (if any), copies of any pertinent documentation and your specific objectives. We then review your information, analyze the situation, consider relevant records, and prepare a research plan. Based on this plan we study available sources, conduct the actual research, then analyze the results obtained.

A professional report is then prepared, complete with full explanations and source citations and accompanied by copies of all documents obtained. This report identifies all sources searched and includes both positive and negative results. In addition, suggestions for further research are included and you may renew your research on an on-going basis if you so wish. You are always the one determining your goals; we take our direction from you at all times.

We accept work on a pre-paid hourly basis, and usually work in units of four to six hours. This time includes: initial analysis, development of the research plan, on-site research, subsequent analysis and report preparation. Generally, for every hour of research an equal amount of time is required for writing the reports. Out-of-pocket expenses are additional. Our fees are reasonable and competitive.

We also do single document "look-ups", for example a birth registration, at a flat rate which include the costs of photocopying and postage.

Gift Certificates

If you are searching for a unique and very personal gift for a special occasion, such as an anniversary, retirement, birthday or perhaps a family reunion, consider a Family Stories gift certificate.

We will prepare a beautiful gift certificate for a designated number of hours of your choosing. The recipient of your gift can then contact us directly to begin the journey into their family's history. This is a much appreciated gift idea.

Kindly contact us directly for an outline of all fees (see Contact Us page for particulars).
